10-Ethoxy-9-hydroxy-delta-6a-tetrahydrocannabinol – Topical Composition for Skin Care

10-Ethoxy-9-hydroxy-delta-6a-tetrahydrocannabinol – Topical Composition for Skin Care

Cannabis is more mainstream than we have ever imagined. There are around 29 states that have legalized recreational and medical marijuana. Indeed, the unique plant is still classified as a Schedule I drug by the federal government.

Just like cannabis is proved to be highly successful substance in the treatment of various symptoms of epilepsy or chronic pain, it is also found to be successful in the treatment of many skin related diseases. Cannabis is being used for manufacturing many skin care products. As we know cannabis comprise around 80 distinctive cannabinoids.

Cannabinoids are a group of active compounds which are responsible for providing the psychoactive and medical properties to plant. Whereas THC – tetrahydrocannabinol is the best-known cannabinoid, creating high effect, but CBD – a non-psychoactive cannabinol tends to be the best cannabis-based skincare.

Topical composition comprising Cannabinoids and Hydroxy Acids for Skin Care

The current invention relates to methods and composition for the treatment and prevention of skin disorders along with the rejuvenation of the skin. Particularly, the application suggests methods of treatment and topical compositions comprising the use (combined) of one or even multiple cannabinoids as well as one or multiple hydroxy acids in a more suitable career.

Our skin takes up the largest part of our body, having the surface area of around 18 square feet. Considering the epidermis, the keratinocytes builds keratin. It is the protein that provides flexibility and strength to skin and waterproofs the surface of the skin. Elastic fibers and collagen in the dermis provide strength to the skin.

Keratin intermediate filaments which protect cell again physical stress and provide them with mechanical resilience. However, disruption of the keratin leads to pathological conditions and diseases of the skin. There are hundreds of skin related problems; some are due to viruses, bacteria or fungi etc while others are due to excessive exposure to the sun. Not to mention, sunlight is one of the primary cause of aging.

This means we need improved treatment options in order to fix skin conditions, to reduce the skin aging effects and to prevent and treat skin disorders.

To fix these issues and among other methods, one embodiment is the topical composition for skin treatment which is based on one therapeutically effective amount of one cannabinoid and similarly one therapeutically good amount of potential hydroxyl acid in a more topically acceptable carrier.

In one aspect of the innovation, 10-Ethoxy-9-hydroxy-delta-6a-tetrahydrocannabinol is one of the cannabinoids. It belongs to the category of cannabitriols. The research on this compound is yet to be done. Currently, we don’t have much information about 10-Ethoxy-9-hydroxy-delta-6a-tetrahydrocannabinol but we know that it is also used in composing skin treatments.

Just like other cannabinoids, 10-Ethoxy-9-hydroxy-delta-6a-tetrahydrocannabinol might also have some unique chemical properties which can only be known with progressive research work on these cannabinoids. For now, we can only assume that the compound holds the same therapeutic properties as that of cannabitriols. To prove its capabilities, there is a need for more clinical trials first probably on mice and then human bodies.
