Trellis Netting

What does Trellis Netting mean?

Trellis netting is a tool that gardeners use to support their plants and help the plants stand upright.

Trellis netting increases vertical garden yields even in small spaces by protecting tender vines and supporting plants. It is also used as a protective measure against insects, rodents, and ground-rot (because the plants will not touch the ground as much). Trellis netting ensures that plants grow upward in vertical farming. It also increases air circulation, pollination, and sun exposure.

More Info On Trellis Netting

Trellis netting is made from several materials such as plastic, galvanized steel, and nylon.

There are four main trellis netting designs:

  1. A horizontal trellis is optimal for holding the weight of heavy crops.
  2. An A-frame trellis is ideal for vent plants, container plants, and small gardens.
  3. A vertical trellis helps keep plants upright.
  4. An arch trellis works wonders on a garden if it is paired with flowers.

Many gardeners prefer to make the color of the trellis netting visible to prevent accidental cuts during harvesting and pruning. It is important to note that polypropylene trellis netting might lose its tensile strength if it is exposed to the sun for too long. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly change trellis netting.
