Understanding triOH-THC – Tryhydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol and Cannabinoids

Most of us already know that tetrahydrocannabinol is the famous chemical compound found in the cannabis. It is responsible for a euphoric high. However, there is a lot more to know about THC and its other associated compounds or possible psychoactive constituents.

THC is synonymous with marijuana or cannabis and you must have heard of it, regardless if you are a newbie to the world of cannabis or familiar with this unique plant for long!

Tetrahydrocannabinol is a Cannabinoid

If you really want to understand THC and its constituents like triOH-THC – Tryhydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol then you must first understand cannabinoids.

They are chemical compounds present in the cannabis plant and known to reach with body and brain to produce different effects.

Since, there are hundreds of cannabinoids in the famous cannabis plant, what makes THC as one of the most widely known compounds among these hundreds of cannabinoids?

Well, the popularity of THC is due to its abundant psychoactive attributes. The isolation of tetrahydrocannabinol came from a chemist, known as Raphael Mechoulam. This Israeli chemist isolated as well as synthesized the THC in the year 1964, from Lebanese hashish, and marked the beginning of the research work for cannabis. This beginning of the research work has now led to the discovery of numerous other cannabinoids including triOH-THC – Tryhydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.

But this research work is not yet conclusive in terms of all the compounds or cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant. There are numerous compounds that are yet to be discovered for their therapeutic effects on the human body. Not all of them are well-known or discovered when it comes down to their physical and chemical properties.

What do we know about triOH-THC – Tryhydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol?

Well, as stated earlier, triOH-THC – Tryhydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol is also one of the compound presents in the cannabis plant that is yet to be discovered. The research work on this constituent of THC is not completed. But considering the fact that it belongs to the category of THC or contains tetrahydrocannabinol, we can assume that Tryhydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol possess the similar characteristics as that of THC.

We can assume that this constituent of THC contain the similar psychoactive properties as that of THC and might produce the same effects on the brain and body.

Speaking of which, do you know how THC get us high?

Well, to put in simple words, THC works when it binds to cannabinoid receptors which are concentrated in the central nervous system and produce psychoactive effects. So are we saying that human bodies evolved for cannabis?

Well, not exactly! Before we assume that we must also consider the naturally occurring cannabinoids in the human body. They are known as endogenous cannabinoids. In case, you are a runner you must be familiar with anandamide. You must have experienced a strong wave of euphoria right after the successful jog that is majorly known as the runner’s high.

So we can only hope that we get to know more about triOH-THC – Tryhydroxy-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol by taking up a detailed research work. But this seems like a long-term plan considering the prevailing legalization issue of marijuana, restricting the research work all over the world.
